Hiking Copper Canyon
Amigo Trails is especially proud of our adventures in hiking Copper Canyon. Our trips are extensive, lasting 10-11 days (or longer if you prefer), and offer utterly amazing views that start from sea level to just over 7,000 feet high!
You will be accompanied by English-speaking guides from the very beginning to the end who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and have actually made the Copper Canyon their home. You will also be accompanied by the indigenous people of the Sierra Tarahumaras (where Copper Canyon is located), known as the Raramuri people (Raramuri is translated in their language as "the running people").
These "hearty" people are world-renowned for their prowess and endurance in long distance running races, which are sometimes as long as 100 miles! They will also be providing indigenous fare so you can eat as the natives eat, if you interested in tasting the local flavors! Rest assured that when you go with Amigo Trails, you are going with the best around!
We will take you on a journey to explore the mystical "Secret Forest" of Sinaloa, ancient and mysterious petroglyphs, and the Urique, Copper, Tararecua, Basihuare and Batopilas Canyons! On your trip hiking Copper Canyon, you will see interesting rock formations, a beautiful lakes and rivers, and a stunning waterfall, just to name a few of the natural sights you will see.
You will also be exposed to beautiful alpine villages, the San Ignacio and Cusarare Missions, the illustrious Lost Cathedral, an old silver mining town, and much much more!
