The dramatic desert scenery of Southern Baja will tantalize your senses and the many beaches will welcome you as you travel to the Pacific Ocean then onto the Sea of Cortez and afterwards, up to Magdalena Bay to watch the whales. This trip is a wonderful exploration of beaches, hiking, kayaking and whale watching that will delight any traveler.

7 nights/8 days - easy vehicle supported trip, including light day hiking at sea level and slightly above, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and whale watching. This trip is fully guided and includes 19 meals.

Day 1: Los Cabos Arrival/Todos Santos

Arrive on your own to Los Cabos and meet your guide for transfer to the charming colonial town of Todos Santos about 1.5 hours away to the hotel of your choice (View Hotel Options). You'll enjoy a Welcome dinner and briefing from your local guide.

Day 2: Todos Santos

The day starts out with a spectacular morning Cliff Walk where you're likely to see sea lions, birds, whales and desert flora. Lunch is served on a palm-ringed beach in the form of a picnic. You'll have unlimited time today to eat, swim, relax on the beach and hike around this area.The rest of the day can be spent lounging around the pool at your hotel, getting a massage or just relaxing with a good book on the beach. There are also other optional activities available.

Tonight we'll partake in a Mexican cooking lesson with a local Chef, and dine on our delicious creations.

*An optional afternoon activity today is Horseback riding on the beach. There are 70 miles of pristine, virtually empty beach for you to enjoy on horseback here.

Day 3: Todos Santos

This morning you'll hike through an incredible desert canyon featuring 3 waterfalls and beautiful scenery. Lunch will be a picnic at the last waterfall. Hike time is approximately 2.5 hours and total trip time is about 4 hours. The rest of the day is yours to explore the area on your own, relax by the pool or on the beach or do an optional activity.

In the evening you'll watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of champagne or two under the stars while listening to a local astronomer who will illustrate the night sky, outlining the constellations and bringing their epic stories to life – not only with the Greek mythologies, but Aztec, and Mayan mythologies as well. Dinner will be on your own tonight in Todos Santos.

*An optional afternoon activity today is a Surfing Lesson. Todos Santos boasts some of the best surf breaks in all of Baja.

Day 4: La Paz

You'll be transferred over land by private vehicle today to La Paz, about 1 hour away to the hotel of your choice (View Hotel Options). The rest of the day will be spent kayaking and snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez. Lunch will be on taken on the white, sandy beaches surrounding a beautiful bay. Dinner is on your own tonight in La Paz.

Day 5: La Paz

You'll snorkel and swim with the sea lions and their pups at their permanent sea lion colony on the island of Los Islotes today. This is a fantastic experience and you'll have the entire day to spend enjoying this island and your new aquatic friends. Lunch is served on the beach and your farewell dinner will be at a restaurant on the malecon in La Paz tonight.

Day 6: Magdalena Bay

Morning transfer to Magdalena Bay about 4 hours by private vehicle. Magdalena Bay is the calving grounds for many Gray Whales who migrate here yearly to give birth to their babies. We'll have a spot of lunch at a local restaurant, then spend the afternoon watching whales in the bay. Your hotel tonight is the only one in the area. It is clean but very simple and unassuming. Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant and a true taste of Mexico.

Day 7: Magdelena Bay/Todos Santos

You'll spend the morning watching the whales again and may even get the chance to pet one. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant and then you'll be transfered by private vehicle back to Todos Santos for the night. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and you'll say goodbye to this magical area of Mexico.

Day 8: Fly home

You'll be transferred to the Airport in Los Cabos so you can fly home or continue your journey to the mainland in Mexico.
