This is a day hike only with one night of camping or just a hike alone if preferred. It
can be done in addition to other trips as an add on or it can be done as a stand
alone hike for those wanting to do something simple in the Copper Canyon with
EXCELLENT views. You go from the Mirador Hotel on a hike of about 6 hours to
see some great views of Urique Canyon. Along the way you'll see a huge cave and
have a chance to dip into a crystal pool under a waterfall. Lunch is served at the
end of the hike with style and flair. A traditional discada is prepared for you and
served up with wine as you eat at a table set to perfection overlooking a fantastic
view. One can camp-out tonight or be returned to the Mirador Hotel after the hike

history, culture and flora of the area.j

Oteviachi Hike
This trip starts from the Mirador Hotel at 9am in the morning.** Your bilingual
guide will meet you in the lobby and you'll hike from the Mirador Hotel along
the south rim and end up in Oteviachi overlooking Urique Canyon. You'll be
given a snack for the trail but lunch will be served when you arrive at the end
of the hike, around 3 or 4 pm. You'll be led down to where you can see the
cave at the left and also swim in a cool pool (weather permitting of course).
Lunch is a traditional discada (Mexican stir-fry with lots of meats, served
with guacamole and tortillas). Wine will also be served. All you have to do is
sit back now and relax...Dinner is cooked over the campfire if you are
camping out and you'll sleep right there tonight under the stars. If you are
doing the hike only, you'll pack up and return to the Mirador Hotel tonight.
