This hike is simple and considered moderate. It gives you 3 nights of camping
with 2 nights in hotels. Trip begins from the train station in Creel where you'll be
transferred to the Sierra Lodge Hotel. You'll start your hike from there with an
English speaking guide and a Raramuri guide as well. All food, gear (except your
sleeping bag) and a cook are included as you make your way across Tararecua
Canyon to visit 3 different hot springs. Two can only be reached by hiking into
them so the peace and tranquility of being in the Sierra will overcome you as you
cross this canyon and relax in the natural hot springs of Basirecota and
Owerabo. You'll end your trip at Recowata Hot Springs and hike out to the top of
the mountain to be picked up and taken to Creel for your last night. Whew! Short
but utterly Sweet!

On day 3,  you'll have a full day of hiking to reach Owerabo hot springs. Count
on about 7 hours or so today. This hot springs is my favorite as it sits on a
gentle slope in a natural made watering hole with a soft and low waterfall,
falling into it. There is a large river nearby, just down the slope, and several
other hot springs behind in a smaller stream feed into the main river. Across
the river there is a waterfall that is fed by another hot springs so you get a
lovely warm cascade of water if you venture over there. Camp here for two
nights with day hiking on day 4 from camp.

Hiking to Recowata today will only take about 4-5 hours. Once there, set
down your gear and have a dip in the pools to relax. When you're ready, hike
up the final mountain to reach the summit of Tararecua Canyon. You'll be
met by a vehicle to take you to Creel about 1 hour away. Check in to the Best
Western Hotel and schedule a massage for your aching muscles or just
enjoy the jacuzzi or steam room. A Farewell Dinner is on tonight with your
guide. He'll let you know when and where.
