Okay, there are TONS of hikes one can do in the Copper Canyon. But since it is
difficult to organize them everywhere, all the time, we have compromised and will
offer 4 hikes from our offices. All trips are run during certain months only,
depending upon the climate of course for each hike as some are done in the
Upper Sierra and some in the Canyon bottoms.
Click on your favorite below to learn more about it and see costs. Please keep in
mind that hiking trips can be a bit more expensive than normal trips as you are
paying for guides, burros, food, equipment and LOTS of organization behind the
scenes. However, if you compare our hikes with others that are offered out there,
I'm sure you'll see how very economical they really are. Do keep in mind that
there is a minimum number of persons needed to run any hike so the larger the
group, the cheaper the per person cost will be.
All trips include Raramuri guide, burros, food, cooking equipment, cook and
English speaking logistics coordinator and translator/guide. All you need to bring
is your sleeping bag and pad.

This hike is 3 nights and will take you
from Cusarare, across Tararecua
Canyon and back to the Creel area,
ending at Recowata Hot Springs. You'll
see 3 different springs and bathe in 2
of them. Two are completely
untouched by "civilization". By this we
mean you must hike to it to see it.
This trip is done in the summer time
from May to June and from Sept. to
Nov. to avoid the rains and cold.

Rim Views near Divisadero
|
This hike is a Day Only Hike so it's
great if you don't have a ton of time but
you'd still like to fit in some great
views. You basically start out from the
Mirador Hotel on the rim in Divisadero
and hike with your bilingual guide along
the rim to an area where you'll get a
fantastic discada lunch, complete with
wine, tables and chairs and all the
trimmings. You can add in a night of
camping as well if you like. This is done
after the hike of course and then you
are transferred to the Mirador Hotel the
next day. Click on the link above for
the itinerary, more details and pricing.
This is by far our most popular hike as
the views are fantastic, it is short and
sweet and far enough away to be "out
there" but also close enough to get
back quickly.
This trip is done from September to
November and May to June to avoid the
rains and cold.
Also, see our Oteviachi and Train Line
Package for a great hike within a great
package. It really has it all.
