Sinforosa Canyon
Flights over the canyons!

The 3 Amigos & Amigo
Trails Travel are now
offering flights by small
planes over the canyons.

We highly recommend
flying over Batopilas,
Sinforosa, Urique and
Candamena Canyons for a
bird's eye view and sights
you'll always remember.

All flights depend upon
weather and must be
booked in advance.
Refunds are given
immediately if a flight must
be cancelled due to
inclement weather and no
chance to reschedule is
available.

All persons participating in
any scheduled flights must
be flexible and open
minded and ready for
adventure.

Just remember that
although  there will NOT be
any airport security
checkpoints to endure, the
runways will be a bit less
than you are used to. But,
hey!... That's half the fun
anyway right?

It is an Adventure to say
the least...and not one
easily forgotten!

Information about the Copper Canyon
Buses to and from Creel: (times do change without our knowing it so please take
this list as a helpful tool and not as the gospel.)
There are only 2 bus lines that go into Creel from Chihuahua. One is Estrella
Blanca
, which has really let itself go. Although it is a well known line, most of it's
buses are old and run down.
Departure times from Chihuahua to Creel: 7am, 8am, 10am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm,
4pm and 6pm. ~ cost is $18US per ticket ($180 pesos)

12:45pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5:30pm. ~ cost is $18US per ticket ($180 pesos)
Noroeste is the other line and although it has less departures it is a much better
bus line with new buses being added all the time and better trained drivers.

$18US per ticket ($180 pesos).
Departure times from Creel to Chihuahua: 9:15am, 11:30am & 3pm.  ~ Cost is

Buses from Creel to Batopilas:
This bus is a privately owned bus or van that leaves from in front of the Amigos office
daily except Sundays. Cost is ~ $17US per person each direction. This bus is
usually dependable but has been known to not run if it doesn't feel like it.
Departure times from Creel to Batopilas: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30am
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 7:30am
Departure times from Batopilas to Creel: Every day at 5am (designed this way so
you can catch the 11am train to Los Mochis). No buses on Sundays.

Trains from Chihuahua or Los Mochis:
Trains leave Chihuahua every day at 6am for the 1st class and 7am for the second
class. The main difference between the two trains is that the 1st Class has a bar
and restaurant car. You may not bring your own beverages or food on this train.
The 2nd class train is used by more locals so it has more "color" than the "tourist"
1st class train. You may bring your own food and beverage on this train. The 2nd
class train costs about 1/2 of what the 1st class prices are.

Prices for 1st class train (approximate only):
Chihuahua to Creel - $75US
Creel to Los Mochis - $90US
Creel to El Fuerte - $70US
Chihuahua to Los Mochis - $156US

Tours in the Creel area:
There are dozens of independent individuals who organize tours in Creel, in addition
to the Hotels in the area.
A word of caution: Please come by our offices first to get a
free map of the area so you will see where the places are to visit around Creel.
There are many places that you can walk to for free or bike or scooter to for much
cheaper than a tour that someone may wish to sell you. There are also public buses
to many places.

All tours require a minimum # of people in order to operate. If you do not have the
min. # required, don't be discouraged. If you are willing to pay for the basic price on
your own, you can have a private tour. However, you may want to consider renting
one of our Amigo Trucks as you can see and do almost everything where as a
standard tour may only show you one or two places for the same price. Driving is
very easy and straight forward here.

New: The 3 Amigos Creel office is now running tours as well as renting vehicles.
You can now sit back and leave the driving to us while you enjoy the canyons. For
more information about our tours, please visit our other site:

Weather:
The weather in any canyon can change dramatically from moment to moment so one
should always come prepared, no matter what the season, with a wide variety of
clothing. Having said that, our seasons run like this: Rainy from the end of June to
end of August. Windy from March through April. Winter from December to the end of
February. Fall is Sept. through November and Spring is March through May.
Temperatures at the bottom of any canyon are always HOT, even in Winter months.

Creel temps. on average: Winter is November to March and it freezes at night but
daytime temps can be as high as 65 on certain days if sunny. Spring is April to June
and warms up to about 75 during the day with still freezing temps at night well into
May at times. Summer is late June to late August and it rains every day with temps
not going over 85 usually on a sunny, non-rainy day. Fall is September to October
and is lovely with normal fall weather. I still have plants growing until November at
times.
